Twins Take Turns
Carolina Masters teammates Katherine and
Emily Shields (center and right) dominated the Women 3/4
podium in Hendersonville with Katherine winning on Saturday
and Emily taking the top step of the podium on Sunday.
September 23, 2009 - Dylan Mitchell Memorial Criterium
(L to R) John Patterson, Charlie Brown and
Ryan Jenkins.
Keith Johnson (below) pushed the
pace early, setting up Charlie Brown's attack that had him in
solo mode for the first half of the race. John Patterson
bridged and the duo quickly lapped the field. With one lap to
go Ryan Jenkins clinched the sweep by attacking the other
three in his chase group, powering to the finish alone. Keith
Johnson doubled-up and won the 45+ race.

Carolina Masters had an eventful weekend of
racing. The team put together 9 top 5s over two days of racing with
John Patterson winning the Masters 45+ City Park Criterium in a
photo finish and Keith Johnson placing 2nd in the Masters 35+ City
Park Criterium. Our Juniors had their first full weekend of racing
together with Chris Holmes placing 3rd and Austin Wood 5th in the
Out Like a Lion Road Race and Emily Shields 5th and Katherine
Shields 7th in the City Park Criterium.
